The 1914-15 Star sanctioned by the King in 1918, is similar in design to the 1914 Star, however there are differences in detail. The dates 1914-15 appear on the central scroll, while the words AUG and NOV are omitted. The ribbon is identical to that of the 1914 Star. Those eligible for the 1914-15 Star are; all officers and men of the Royal Navy, Royal Marines (Royal Marine Light Infantry and Royal Marine Artillery), Royal Naval Air Service, Royal Naval Reserve, Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve, Royal Indian Marine and Dominion Naval Forces, who were mobilised and served at sea, or on shore in a theatre of operations. All officers and men of the RNAS employed flying from Naval Air Stations on overseas patrols. All personnel of the Mercantile Marine serving under special Naval engagements. All canteen staffs who served in a ship of war at sea. All officers, warrant officers, non commissioned officers and men of the Army including the Territorial Force; the Royal Flying Corps; Queens Alexander's Imperial Military Nursing Service and the Territorial Force Nursing Services who actually served in a theatre of operations. All officers, warrant officers, non commissioned officers and men of the Indian Army, Australian and New Zealand Army Corps, the Canadian Expeditionary Force, Colonial units and Dominion Forces, who actually served in a theatre of operations. All civilian practitioners, nursing sisters, nurses and others employed in military hospitals, who actually served on the establishment of a unit in a theatre of operations. Between the dates 5th August 1914 and 31st December 1915.

 There was no bar issued for this medal and approximately 2,366.000 1914-15 Stars were issued.
